Promoting a Gaming site

Well, my gaming community site is located at http://www.sparkonline.net

The goal is to provide the gaming community of Outspark with the latest guides/information, databases, and news about all of Outspark's MMO games.

My site isn't the best but from first-impression, what should I do to the site to make it better for promoting?

you have gaming site then u can just start promoting it through games forums, blogs and news groups,social bookmarking etc related all game web site it's really help full.

The easiest way to gain members is to hold some competitions where the prize could be related to the specific game, and try to make your forum unique, I have seen many of hundreds of gaming forums that dont offer anything different, and they have all failed miserably

Nice Idea, you have to search for where your audience hangs out and start promoting your self there, moreover you have to make some incentive for players to join and to start to play, as a ranking / reward system.

Gaming is a niche which consists of the highest amount of competition for a good keyword. If you plan to do hardcore linkbuilding, choose a lesser used keyword so that it may aid you get a few yet targeted and quality visitors.

When you go to similar forums make sure they allow signatures and if they do put the signature which leads to your site.

For a Game a Good Strategy is the Social Bookmarking and use the Social Networks to promote it
