It's always a good idea to secure your forums. You never know when a hacker is going to try and hack into your forums.

I, for one, take extra precautionaires.

I change admin area, htaccess it, also fake ACP

You can use .htaccess and .htpasswd in combination for this.

If you appreciate your forums take ALL the security recomendations to reduce the risk.

Later I post an example of simple .htaccess and .htpasswd protect method.

I just protect my admin cp with an extra password that is 10+ characters.
