Has anyone used google adwords to promote their website? Does it actually work and give you quality traffic or is it just a waste?

I have used it but the main problem is the click fraud. You can however get some visitors to your site. It really depends on how you are targetting your customers. Also imho you should have at least a $20-$50 a week budget for the promotion.

Well, that doesn't sound very positive. If you spend large amounts on adwords, you really have to make the most of all your vistors (e.g. make them buy products) if you want to break even

Google adwords is a great way to get your site some much needed traffic (for example, if it is new). The traffic is quality too, but obviously it costs quite a bit (and it can be hard to get that back)

There are much better ways to get traffic. You could get paid links, submit to the yahoo directory etc

You pay so much for advertising, and yet only a small percentage of the traffic will stay for more than a few seconds.
