I found a great free forum software that is based off of IPB. I don't care what the owner says, but the layout resembles IPB and that is that.
So far, NovaBoard has been looking great. The owner is frequently releasing updates and constantly looking out for bugs. The sad thing is there are still too many bugs.
One bug was that I couldn't even sign up at the support forum because there was a problem in my validation email.
However, it looks very promising and those of you that favor IPB may want to take a look.

P.S. v1.0 just came out a couple days ago, and there are a lot of cool new features.

Nope, because there aren't as many mods and a much smaller community.

Its actually really nice, and works great! Unfortunately i prefer MyBB - Novaboard doesnt have many mods or themes. Plus they have just started When they have more mods & theme it'll be a good software.

It looks pretty interesting actually, and seems like it has quite a bit of potential. I was never much of a fan of IPB, but I'll have to check it out some more later. Here's hoping that development remains consistent.

I rather like this software. I just downloaded it and I'm going to test it out. But I did the demo and it seems so much easier to maneuver than MyBB does.

Yeah, currently that only thing I see that MyBB has better than Novaboard is the large community and mods. Novaboard has a better interface and is easier to manage.

what I don't like about Nova is that when I scroll over an image, the cursor points and the formatting of the New Posts and This Users Posts/Threads

but i love IPB
i might use this for testing.
