Hello everyone I'm Michael Carelse. I am a recent convert to the internet marketing arena. My goal is to make $3,000 per month in internet earnings by December 2008. I have just realised how hard internet marketing is though. When I first started out, I thought that I would just push a button and the money will keep coming while I slept
. Browsing on forums has made me realize how wrong I was. But I'm glad that I found this out before I lost a lot of money. Now I am more willing to put in the hard work required to acheive my goals.
I am willing to bet you don't meet your goal. Do you have a full time job? Certainly building a site to earn $3k a month is going to take a lot of efforts in 12 months.
I started out as a newbie web designer, and have just focused on getting better at web design. I've never really tried to monetize my sites, and even if i did i doubt i would make much. I still earn money online, but its mainly from writing for others (freelancer). Don't think you're alone in thinking you can make money though, a friend of mine thought he could make a website and get hundreds daily. After hours of hard work he barely got 2 dollars. Most people don't succeed online because they want to go from rags to riches overnight. When it doesn't work, they think the internet isn't any use for making money.
Some advice from me:
- Start small. Set targets of $30/40 per month at first and then slowly increase it. Remember, you have to be realistic.
- Put lots of effort in. Many people make a quick site in Frontpage and stick ads everywhere. This rarely works.
- Do your best work. if you are doing jobs for others on the web (freelancing) always do the best you can. Go the extra mile, and get a good reputation. Its what i do, and it works. A happy customer who got what he paid for and more is better than two who are mildly satisfied with your services

$3K a month can be achieved, but it takes alot of effort and for someone new to the online world its going to take a long time before theres even a chance. I know a few people who have gone from 0 to $xxx per month using adsense though, so its all a matter of dedication and quality of content (and site promotion)
