I had an AV-Arcade last year and it was hacked and all my games were gone, so I'm concerned about this issue.
How safe is MyBB, and how can I make it safer?
using free forum is also a risk but you should keep updating it as they fix the problem with every build

AV Arcade is terrible. MyBB is excellent at rooting out potential exploits and immediately patching them. Just join their mailing list and update immediately with new releases.
You have to worry more about plugins than MyBB.
Well how can I be sure that a plugin is safe? Are all plugins submitted in Mybboard's mod database safe?

My point being, there is always a way to exploit everything. So just accept it. MyBB is one of the best of the bunch though.

Yes, like the above poster said, everything is vulnerable is someway, nothing is un-hackable. Just be sure to be up to date with everything, make sure that it's updated and the authors will probably address security issues.
