I plan to do something similar here as well but involve the lottery.

That would be a good idea, once you get enough members, members with a certain amount of posts can throw in a lottery ticket. Of course, you would rig it in my favour

I'm a lot more hesitant to participate in lotteries. I think strait redemption is a lot more appealing, yet more expensive. As for fdplaza.com, where is the domain registered?

Yeah but I could give away a free domain EVERY DAY..that would certainly keep members active. At first depending on members online I might do a domain once a week but eventually I would love it everyday.

I have a whole sheet filled out with all my best promotional ideas. I am rolling them out now.

@ bojomojo - the idea of giving domains for free has slowly become quite popular, so it probably won't be as successful for your forum as it could have been in 2006/07. I like your forum design, but the ads need to be integrated better. Just look at how labrocca has placed them here.

Yeah, but my thing is: Do they place ads on the site? That's usually the case in "free" sites (though not always).
