Hand Coding or WYSIWYG
Do you prefer hand coding your site or using an editor such as frontpage or dreamweaver?

I hand code much more often, because the code is much better and there is less junk in it. Its also quicker (i have a few templates i modify every time).

Sometimes i can have trouble visualising or just don't feel like coding, which is why i have frontpage installed anyway.

Its easier to use an editor, but the results can be more 'unique' if you hand code the website.

I like to get existing templates and just modify the code. So basically, i prefer hand coding because the results are better and you have more control than you would if you were using an editor.

Hand coding is better if you are in it for the long run - i.e. you plan to make multiple websites. if you are just making a one of website than i suppose its ok to use a wysiwyg editor

RE: Hand Coding or WYSIWYG
Definitely hand coding. It is so much easier to actually see what you are doing and inputting. However WYSIWYG can be good if your in a rush.

RE: Hand Coding or WYSIWYG
Well, WYSIWYG is usefull when you don't know what to do. However, hand coding it's a lot more funny that just copying the code that some program gave you, and when you look at the result you can say "I made this myself".
But programs like Dreamweaver are also handy when you don't want to design a site by yourself.

RE: Hand Coding or WYSIWYG
I use Net Objects Fusion for my web pages. I like that there are programs out there like this one that gives someone like me - one who has no clue how to do this stuff from scratch! - a big ol' helping hand in designing web pages.

What's nice with NOF is that it allows you to modify the code and insert your own additional code in places where it will not mess up the code the program makes for you. It also has cross browser compatibility if you select that which makes checking across several different browsers so much easier and with little extra 'fiddling' to make the site look the same in all browsers.

RE: Hand Coding or WYSIWYG
Hm... I'd have to say either way is fine to me. There really isn't one way that I'd prefer over the other. As long as I get my desired result, I don't really hold how I did it with much importance. But I do usually hand code my things, if it's any consolation.
