I tend to stay away from bad hosts. I have my own server as well as 2 cheap hosts that have been good for redundancy.

I think Namecheap just resells for Globat. That's the same as their enom reseller account. I think actually they are getting accredited by ICAAN't soon.

The $40 ain't a terrible deal but that automatic upgrade crap is unreal. Are they based in US? You should file a complaint with their state attourney.

Have you ever used them for hosting then? I have a namecheap account but never recieved this email.
